Frequently Asked Questions
How much does restoration dentistry cost?
Prices for restoration dentistry vary. With technological advances, they do become more affordable; however, variances occur with quality, design, and scope of need. Financing plans are often available and insurance covers more treatments and procedures than it has historically. The costs cannot be compared to the necessity of your dental health, which can effect to your overall well-being. Discuss the best approach with Dr. Capati and our staff. We can help maximize your insurance benefits and the results of your treatment.
What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a condition where the airway becomes covered, usually by the tongue, due to abnormal muscle relaxation of the tongue and surrounding muscles in the throat area. With the airway covered, a person does not breathe. With low oxygen levels, heart rate increases and becomes a danger with high blood pressure, stroke or heart attack. Since an individual is always awakening to catch their breath, they never get the deep restful sleep needed by the body.
How long will my recommended treatment plan take?
Since plans vary by patient, so do the timelines. Some treatments can be completed in hours while others evolve over a period of weeks or months. Your dentist will carefully review your treatment plan with you and determine the course of action that best serves your needs while minimizing your time in the dentist’s chair. Dr. Capati will carefully review your treatment plan with you.
Will the procedures performed on me be painful?
Pain is the primary fear of most dental patients. It is also what prevents them from seeing a dentist – often resulting in more pain or more time later on! Technology is changing the face of most industries, dentistry included. With improvements in medication and equipment, the discomfort to a client continually decreases. Plus, the "chair-side" manner of Dr. Capati helps create a trusting atmosphere in which our clients can relax and allow the procedures to take place with little stress.
Are dental x-rays harmful?
They are not harmful in the doses we use. The radiation exposure from dental radiographs (x-rays) is miniscule compared to that from a normal chest x-ray. To lessen the exposure to the body, we provide a lead apron that covers much of your body and deflects the risk of the x-ray.
How can I be assured that my dental treatment is sanitary and the potential for infection is controlled?
Your safety and the sanitization of our equipment reflect on our reputation. We meet and exceed all the required guidelines of sterilization and examination with extensive cleaning, proper disposal, and the use of gloves. (Please let Dr. Capati and our staff know if you are allergic to latex.)
